Ok, so far not such a huge fan of this Doctor. His eye brows give me the creeps and unlike his two previous incarnations, he’s not easy to approach and does not give off a sense of warmth.

Every time a new actor takes over the role of the Doctor, the mysterious alien time-traveler on Doctor Who, it’s always a bit of an adjustment. The expectations are high — and Capaldi’s opening story, “Deep Breath,” is sort of an odd showcase for a new Doctor.
It’s got some of the “regeneration disorientation” stuff that’s traditional in a “new Doctor” story these days, and there’s some goofy humor in the mix. But Capaldi doesn’t quite seem to “click” with Jenna Coleman on their first outing.

The Twelfth Doctor Who – Peter Capaldi (2014 – Present)

As we all re-watch series 8 and the Christmas Special: The Last Christmas, Whovians around the globe are getting very excited for the premier of series 9 in only 3 weeks time!

The Twelfth Doctor Who – Peter Capaldi has said of series 9 that “[The Doctor is] throwing himself into life with a newfound hunger for adventure. He’s in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something, that even he does not yet understand.”

This sense of joy will extend to the Doctor’s current companion, Clara (Jenna Coleman): “They’ve suddenly realized that they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hellbent on adventure. Jenna continues to deliver a beautifully nuanced, complex, and funny performance that marks her out as one of the best companions ever.” Likewise, he described guest star Maisie Williams (“Game of Thrones”) as “a sharp, talented tornado” and revealed she will play a character who “shifts in cosmic ways.”
