A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY (aka the mind of George Lucas)…Hello fans, we will take a break from Doctor Who as we celebrate my other favourite franchise, Star Wars…continuing with Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi

Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

I am a Jedi, like my father before me.―Luke Skywalker

First released on the 25th May 83, Return of the Jedi takes place a year after the Empires attack on Hoth and Lukes first duel with Darth Vader in which he lost his hand. Returning to his fathers birth place of Tattooine, Luke and friends rescue Han Solo (who was encassed in carbonite) from the clutches of the slug crime boss Jabba the Hutt. While the Falcon crew rejoin the fleet, Luke travels back to the forest world of Dagobah to complete his Jedi training with the wise old Master Yoda only to find that he needs no more training…but one thing remains…Vader…he must face Darth Vader again to become a fully fledged Jedi…then and only then a Jedi will he be.

And so he does, in an epic battle above the forest moon of Endor, Luke faces off against Darth Vader in front of Vader’s Master, The Emperor but when Vader fails to kill Luke, The evil Emperor tries to kill Luke with Force Lightning…only to be saved by his father, destroying the Sith and returning to the side of the Light.

Aided by an amazing score by the Legendary John Williams, this has got to be my favourite Star Wars film to date (yes including the new Force Awakens film).
