A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY (aka the mind of George Lucas)…Hello fans, this month we will take a break from Doctor Who as we celebrate my other favourite franchise, Star Wars…continuing with the third movie of the prequel trilogy, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

This is where the fun begins – Anakin Skywalker

Breaking several box office records in its opening week (May 19th 2005), the third story in the Prequel trilogy, Revenge of the Sith opens with a spectacular space fight over Coruscant, the capitol of the Republic and home to the Jedi Temple and Senate. In the opening crawl we learn that there are heros on both sides as the Republic begins to fall apart under attacks from the Separatist forces led by Count Dooku.

A daring move by the separatists, the Cyborg General Grievous sweeps into the capitol and captures Chancellor Palpatine (secretly Darth Sidious…the evil lord of the Sith) with General Obi Wan Kenobi and his now much older apprentice Anakin Skywalker in pursuit before the Separatists can leave the system…

It is in this story that we see the final demise of Anakin as he succumbs to the Dark Side of the Force in order to save his pregnant wife Padme and rises as Darth Vader, apprentice to the newly appointed Emperor Palpatine.

Between Episode III and IV: A New Hope is the setting of the new stand alone film Rogue One, which hits our local cinema at the end of the year…check out the trailer and let me know what you think.
